First time making a video. Turn the volume on.

The film follows a message from a train in Stockholm to a phone in New York. It takes 41 milliseconds, and almost t he whole way It travels through glass: the phone’s screen fibre down through Sweden and Denmark, a cable on the bottom of the Atlantic. About 8,300 kilometres of it.

Claude made it fully on its own in continuous running for around 2 days, and used up a 100% of my weekly limits in that time to when it was done (on the 5x plan). I have no prior experience in making videos, I’ve never done it before. Recently I got intrigued by libraries like Remotion, and started to experiment with it. It was not straight forward: took a lot of back and forth to get something alright, but it was also mostly basic product videos with animations. I wanted to make something a bit cooler.

So I tasked Claude with stretching it’s imagination and make the single BEST possible video it could do (essentially, with a lot more emphasis on the BEST).

It directed the entire scenes, set up a proper critic workflow with Gemini, that could also listen to the sound track. I think that is what really elevates the film as well. Cost around $40 in total, for image generation and gpu time on modal. I think the cool thing is that it generates the phone scenes with green screen and markers on the display, that it then replaces with literal UI for exact output and animations. Video generation can’t get that entirely right yet, and here it was critical.

Overall, crazy cool what you can do with the right skills, proper MCPs and just giving the agent freedom to achieve a specified goal.
