MVRCK
A stylist you talk to. One sentence in, whole outfits out, from a catalogue and your own wardrobe, seen on you before you buy.
Discover, with the stylist one sentence away
MVRCK is a stylist you talk to. Describe an occasion, drop in a screenshot or point at a jacket you own, and it comes back with complete looks, priced and buyable, that you can see on yourself first. It started in August 2025 as an API and a question, whether a model could put clothes on a photo of you well enough to trust, and it has been built nearly every day since: about 1,800 commits across the app and the API, still going.
How it got here
- August 2025. Virtual try-on first. Five days in, a photo of you went in and one with the clothes on came out, then several pieces at once.
- Autumn. A catalogue with real stock, searched by meaning rather than keyword, and a waitlist.
- Winter. A new web app, started on Christmas Eve, and the stylist became a chat, with search folded into it.
- Spring 2026. Memory: facts about you kept as a small knowledge graph, so it stops asking. A first native app, built in a day to see how it felt.
- Summer. The wardrobe: photograph what you own and it reads each piece, then styles from it. Outfits, collections, onboarding, and the stylist proposing a try-on on its own.
- Autumn 2026. Public outfits and the editorial pages, an outfit photo cut into its pieces, and the native app started properly.
Some of the details
- The Lens. Hold over a product photo and it magnifies under your finger, to see the weave before you buy.
- Attaching things to a chat. Pieces, photos and past looks drop into the message as you write it, without leaving the conversation.
- Reading the wardrobe. An outfit photo is answered first, then cut into its pieces, each line of what it saw finishing its shine before the next.
- One sheet for a selection. Pick pieces anywhere in the app and act on them all from one place.
- The stylist’s tools. It searches the catalogue, checks what you own and asks for your avatar itself, and it can hold to a budget.
- The editorial pages. Each one is the product doing the thing it is about, not an article describing it.
Built with
The web app is SvelteKit and Svelte 5 with Tailwind and shadcn-svelte, on Vercel. The API is Elixir and Phoenix on Postgres with pgvector for the catalogue’s search. The native app is Expo. Its design system, type-led and matte, in Familjen Grotesk and warm greys, is the one this site borrows.
